From 20.11. bis 30.12.2026 the historic Old Town transforms into a
sparkling winter wonderland filled with lights, mulled wine, and festive atmosphere.
This year the Düsseldorf Christmas Markets once again turn the whole city into a cosy winter wonderland stretching from the Königsallee all the way into the glowing Old Town. Expect the smell of mulled wine, delicious street food and plenty of handmade Christmas gifts created with love.
The City of Düsseldorf and the organisers have once again ensured a smooth and safe Christmas season. With smart access rules, clear pathways and a visible security presence, everything is set up for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. Visitors’ awareness also helps maintain a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
The construction work at the Rathaus Plaza is finally finished — the popular crafts market is now shining in full beauty again with warm lights and a newly opened square.
The Königsallee also brings something new: The IG Königsallee introduces the elegant “The Winter Village” — stylish Christmas design, high-quality crafts and premium gift ideas along the famous boulevard.
How much will prices be at the Christmas Market 2026?
Due to rising energy costs, prices might go up slightly — maybe around 50 cents more for mulled wine or sausages. As soon as we know the exact prices, we’ll update you.
🟢 A true classic on the Düsseldorf Christmas Market is the traditional mulled wine and eggnog punch stand run by the Malfertheiner family. For more than 35 years, it has had its fixed spot right behind the Jan-Wellem monument on the Handwerkermarkt in front of the Town Hall – attracting loyal regulars and visitors from all over the world every single year.
🟢 And if you're wondering where to find the best eggnog punch in Düsseldorf – this is the place. Velvety, perfectly spiced and always served with a smile. For many visitors, stopping by this stand has become a beloved personal Christmas tradition.
🟢 Follow the aroma, grab your punch and enjoy it right in front of the beautifully illuminated Town Hall – Christmas in Düsseldorf doesn’t get much better than this.
Here’s where to find the best eggnog punch and mulled wine at the Düsseldorf Christmas Market.

December is the perfect time to visit the Christmas markets – everything is in full swing, the atmosphere is at its best, and there is plenty to see and experience. We’re delighted that our website could give you the confidence you needed for your planning.
Please just make sure to check the closed days, as some markets may be closed on specific dates. For example, Totensonntag (Sunday, 22 November 2026) is a traditional quiet day in Germany that can affect opening hours ahead of the Christmas season.
